Curatorial development in Scotland

Launch Event: Living Out Ideas

01.10.2016, 14:00 - 17:00 - The Old Hairdresser's, Glasgow

The final meeting of Curatorial Studio 2016 was an open, public event at the Old Hairdressers in Glasgow that introduced material from our new, collaborative publication; embodying and presenting content, correspondences, references and concerns from our ongoing discussions as well as new work devised specifically for the event.

We were delighted to introduce Vanessa Brito, Professor de philosophy de l’art à l’École Supérieure d’Art et de Design Marseille Méditerranée to speak about the collaborative project Le Bureau des positions. This is presented as a sister project concerned with understanding and theorising the ethical and spacial position of contemporary art practices.

Living Out Ideas is a new, self-published document from the Curatorial Studio programme.

This ‘prospectus’ brings together new collaborative writing, interviews and individual works to form a broad creative and critical response to the conditions of the curatorial. It is centred around the context of working from Scotland within a wider networks of connections through practice and theory.

The printed version of Living Out Ideas is distributed by Good Press and it is also available free as a digital edition on issuu.
