Rosie O’Grady is based in Glasgow, having graduated from the MLitt Curatorial Practice (Contemporary Art) programme at Glasgow School of Art and University of Glasgow in 2015, and previously from the Glasgow School of Art BA(Hons) Fine Art: Painting & Printmaking programme in 2013.
In artistic and curatorial pursuits, her practice is research-led and frequently realised through writing, film, live events, collaborations, interventions, walks and tours. Recent work has included starting an ongoing research project, The Amateur Library. This aims to explore the potential of amateurism to provide useful strategies and vocabulary for re-imagining creative practice in the face of a culture of pervasive professionalism. In August 2015, The Amateur Library was in residence at International Rocket Week, in Paisley. Rosie was also selected for the Hospitalfield Graduate Residency in October 2015, and will exhibit during Glasgow International 2016. Rosie is a current committee member at Market Gallery and works as Programme Coordinator (maternity cover) at Glasgow Sculpture Studios.
