Kirsteen runs Parallel Lines, an agency for curatorial projects and research based in Glasgow. She also currently works as Programmer: Professional and International Visits at Glasgow International Festival of Visual Art a role that includes hosting networking events, devising research itineraries with visiting curators and working with academic groups. Between 2010-2011, she led the VIRE: VAGA International Research Enquiry commissioned by Creative Scotland, investigating the conditions and needs of curators in Scotland working internationally.
Between 2010-2011 she was Guest Curator at Timespan, Helmsdale in the far north of Scotland, working on new commissions and accompanying publications with artists Graham Fagen and Corin Sworn in response to the unique historical and geographical context of Sutherland. In October 2011, at Salon Populaire, Berlin she presented Lindsay Anderson’s If You Were There, an unreleased film documenting Wham! touring China in 1984, continuing her ongoing curatorial research with Anderson’s personal and working archive. Between 2001-09 she directed The Changing Room in Stirling, programming exhibitions, talks, events and projects with a wide range of artists from Scotland and beyond.
