Gemma Lawrence works as a producer at Creative Carbon Scotland and currently lives in Glasgow. She has a background in art history and environmental sustainability, specialising in contemporary participatory practices. Her current focus is on creating a platform for opportunities for artists working within contexts which relate to questions surrounding environmental sustainability. In her role with Creative Carbon Scotland she has managed and produced a range of cross disciplinary projects including an annual artist residency on the Isle of Mull in partnership with Comar as well as educational visual arts projects. Between 2013 and 2015 she was a member of a two year European arts and sustainability network, hosting the final meeting with Tramway in March 2015. She is also programmer of monthly artist workshops and talks in Edinburgh and Glasgow, and most recently coordinator of series of commissions and events addressing the Paris Climate Summit in December 2015.
